still @ the hospital

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

It’s me again :-) (not the blog owner)

Imelda and Joanna is still in the hospital. Joanna has been diagnosed for jaundice (or kuning in Indonesian)-her bilirubin is marginally at the high side of normal level, hence they couldn’t be discharged yesterday. Joanna undergoes phototherapy today (using those purple lamp) and hopefully the bilirubin level will be better tomorrow.

We’ll keep praying for them, God heals…

The picture I took yesterday. Doesn’t look yelowish at all, does she?

To God be the Glory!

quick post on behalf of the blog owner :-)

The baby was born on the 25th June 2007 at around 2.15pm. The surgery went smoothly, despite us having to wait since 7 o’clock in the morning for our turn to come.

And here she is, at 3.3kg (7lbs), with lots of hair :-)
We’ve just got her full name: Joanna Irene Naniasian Panggabean

Imelda is still in hospital (with the baby) and recovering well. She’ll be back on Friday or maybe sooner.

3 hari menyongsong BABY

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Deg2an nih, 3 hari lagi ketemu baby, ngga berasa udh 9 bln mengandung n si baby bakalan nongol di muka bumi ini. Bala bantuan alias ortu udh dtg tuk nolongin segala sesuatu yg gw butuhkan seblm n stlh melahirkan. Bocoran info soal baby jg udh dpt dari mertua, ortu plus adik ipar gw :-). Gw, hubby n ortu udh siap2 nih dekorasi rumah tuk menyambut si kecil.

Setelah beberapa cara dilakukaan tuk muter baby dari acara nungging2, moxa therapy ampe ECV-

External Cephalic Version

It is possible to manoeuvre the baby from breech to a head-first position. This is done after 37 weeks and the success rate is around 50%, though some doctors are successful as often as 70% of the time. It is useful in that it definitely reduces the number of breech and caesarean births. Around 2.5% of babies flip back to breech after a successful ECV.

The doctor places her hands on the womb, and guides the baby through a forward somersault - often the baby seems to get the idea and his kicking helps to complete the turn. Some doctors use a drug to help the womb relax, particularly for first-time mothers. It may be quite uncomfortable during the turn, but shouldn’t be excessively painful. The baby’s heartbeat is monitored before and after ECV.

It is a safe procedure for the baby, but on the rare occasion the baby becomes distressed a caesarean delivery will be necessary at that time. Because the baby is mature and facilities for surgery are close at hand, this rare occurrence is still not harmful for the baby.

Untung aja hubby, ortu, mertua, adik ipar support gw n sebagian besar mrk prnh c-section jd dpt bocoran soal ini deh. Jadi udh ngga terlalu takut lagi.

FYi, di Welly, lebih disarankan tuk normal birth dibandingkan c-section dgn alasan kondisi mommy n baby lebih cpt pulih dibandingkan c-section. Makanya dokter2 n midwife sih usahanya gigih bener ngusahain normal birth. Tapi kita liat aja nt …

Praise The LORD… :-)
